So I've been permitted by my mother (of course, after begging and begging and the rest I promised her) to attend classes today. It went well during the first few periods. It went especially well right after reccess, when it was announced that I got a 16/15 in my Bio quiz (and of course, my teacher didn't have my paper with him)! Happy Chabs!
But then, the 9 pages of math homework hover over me. I would've listened attentively to the review lesson of our (extremely pregnant--I fear water breaking) Math teacher, but nature called. The natural need to breathe and the stupid hereditary medical health problem called Asthma (AKA Pendulum of Death) needed to be attended to, so I ran down, red-faced to the clinic. It took forever for the nurse to get off the phone with some random parent so she could properly analyze my situation. Then I went to the physician and she told me to nebulize, so I did. Then I had to "rest", so I missed the rest of math.
I ate lunch alone, not willing to walk down to the cafeteria with my friends because 3 flights of stairs is torture for my upper respiratory system.
Filipino time! As head of Tech and Props (yes, BOTH), I got to lay back and cut up some shadow puppets while the rest of the class fancily danced in unison.
AND THEN THERE WAS THE (dreaded, outdoor) ASSEMBLY. The high school gathers in one court, in the heat of the supposed rainy season. The heat + the density of people + 3 flights of stairs = red, sweaty, coughing, DYING Chabs. ):
So I was late to tryouts, but the awesome, ever so lenient club head said it was okay, since it was an Asthma attack. Try outs then proceeded like this:
- waiting outside in the corridor for your turn
- walking into the room and seeing past seniors there to debate with you
- being asked for the movie that describes you and why
- being asked random questions about the G8, the former Chief Justice of the Philippines, The president of South Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and NATO
- Oral defense against past seniors and/or current seniors
- I GOT TO DEBATE ABOUT DISNEY PRINCESSES AS A STEP UP FOR FEMINISM AND THEIR EFFECT ON REALITY (and Patrick Dempsey. AHIHIHI)
- I didn't get to public speak, but damn, Juniors and Seniors rock my world! \mmm/ "Connect 2 Glee songs chosen at random. Entertain us."
YAAAAAAY!!!!
I'm absolutely tired. (:|
